try mixing some green tripe, kidney or similar with the food occasionally, or some mashed up sardines. I personally would feed a small puppy 3 times a day and would be worried if they went more than 1 day without eating.

It won't stop them treating dogs in this manner, only difference will be out of sight out of mind - these people need to be educated about caring for their pets!

Where is PA? sorry to sound ignorant, but I've only ever visited Orlando last time in 2006 and Captiva Island (beautiful). Its a long way to go from here, 24 hours travelling.

yes lots of info on the internet on teaching that, I found you just really need the time and patience, teach one thing at a time for short periods so they don't lose interest, always use the same word when giving the command as well as the dogs name...
