the vets that i work for have done research and it shows that yes it can be genetic. usually not harmful and can easily be fixed at the time of the spay/neuter.

there is a product called Forbid. its a powder that you put on their food for 5-6 days.. it will stop them from eating their feces.. if they start eating another dogs you can just add it to the other dogs food.
