i have an 8 month old cocker spaniel(cheddar) and recently got a new puppy(Gouda) when they first met they got along great but now all the do is maul each other and get into tiffs. . . what should i do? I've tried separating them but they both whine ...

i have an 8 month old cocker spaniel(Cheddar), and recently got a new puppy(Gouda), when they first met they got along great but now my older dog just mauls the new pup. does anyone have any advice for me?
