Never had a cat that did that, but in dogs it's just a dominance thing, so I'd expect that's whats going on. Second possibility is that the older cat may have a slight problem with urinary tract-my male cat that had bladder stones for years develope...

I've had three male cts over the years with uti-one was a really tough case; took 4 years before he stopped being a regular at the vet's. Mix the prescription diet with regular preferred food, and gradually increase prescription food amount. Vet co...
