Obedience doesnt really have anything to do if he was being food aggressive. Sounds like he was guarding his bone and not "getting ready to attack you".

Most likely.. if they say no food after 8pm or whatever.. and the surgery isnt until the next morning... the food will have bypassed the stomach by then.

**This is just my guess.. I dont really know for sure. Trying calling an ER vet and ...

On good days.. mine will shut up when asked. You've just got to train them properly as pups.. as to that.. I did not do. LOL.

Its not the food or water.. its actually his saliva. I've heard you could put apple vinegar in with their water to help.
