She is way too young to have puppies and in my opinion you are risking her life if you allow the pregnancy to continue.

I'd not only wait til the took me to court, but I'd file a report with your state vet association. Your dog could've died and others are at risk. I know you like your vet - but what happened was beyond wrong.

You might consider going to your local shelter and seeing what dogs need homes. Although I am heavily invovled with basset resuces some of my best dogs have been mutts that have been dumped.

If you have the mother get her spayed as soon as the vet says it OK. If $$ is a problem check out low cost spay clinics in your area. Keeping your dog(s) healthy is part of being a responsible pet owner.

With shelters I suggest you keep calling. Often you just get vm and who knows when someone has time to listen to the messages and return calls. Many shelters only have one person to do everything.
