A full sister to my male minpin started her first heat when she was barely 5 months old, and I know of one other from a breed specific group I belong to that also had her first heat at 5 months. Six months seems to be pretty common, unfortunately.

I'm guessing also that she is referring to a German pinscher.

Immunique: The German pinscher was used to produce both the miniature pinscher (much...

I have fed Diamond Lamb and Rice in the past and had no problems with it. I currently feed Diamond Naturals Small Breed Chicken and Rice and my two minpins are doing very well on it. I have no reservations about recommending the "Naturals" line, thou...

I too fed the Diamond Naturals, in my case the Small Breed Adult Chicken and Rice. The "Naturals" are the only foods in the Diamond line that I would feed, however. I really liked that they don't contain any wheat or corn (hence no gluten which was o...

I'm pretty sure they do make canned foods. However, there are MUCH better foods out there. As far as I'm concerned, Royal Canin is pretty much expensive garbage. Canidae is a much better food and usually costs about the same.
