don't bathe hamster. you might not believe this but Syrian Dwarf hamster's and a few others bathe themselves like cats.

I HAVE A SYRIAN DWARF HAMSTER!! THEY BITE HARD AND YOU START TO BLEED A LITTLE. If you really want one DO NOT EVER DROP THE HAMSTER!! IF YOU DO BUT YOU DONT MEAN TO PICK THE HAMSTER UP WITH WINTER GLOVES THAT ARE REALLY REALLY THICK!!

You need to pick a hamster that isn't laying around doing nothing but doesn't look too active and make sure the hamster doesn't look sick. Be sure the hamster is at least a few months old. A hamster that is a few weeks old with out a mom dies soone...
