They used to figure it 7 human years for each dog year, but redid the formula, based on size and breed a year or two ago.

Try the humane society or rescue. You're looking for a small mixed breed pup. There are TONS in the shelters & rescue (most of which are by one of the known breeds) and they won't cost you an arm & a leg.
