I have heard of kerosene being used as well. Though where I grew up, that type of "home vet care" was extremely common among idiots who didn't know a dog from a horse.

There's no reason to re-home your dog. Whoever said that is very uninformed, and probably doesn't know the love of a dog themselves. ;)

I don't know where other animals at pet stores come from so I guess I need to be educated on that.

They come from places that are just as bad and disgusting as puppy mills.

Veterinarians don't know much about nutrition. They take one class on it, and it is taught by representatives of Science Diet. They are paid to endorse the food, but in reality, it is one of the crappiest foods on the market.

The dog would be easier to find, in the case of a fire. A fire would scare the dog, and if it were loose, it would probably run around looking for a way out, possibly ending up getting trapped.

I prefer Timber Wolf Ogranics or RAW.
Petsmart and Pet Supplies Plus have good quality foods. Royal Canin is not a bad choice either. And there are good foods that aren't too pricey, if you're on a budget.

It would be nice, huh scout? Too bad things aren't sane as far as laws like that go.

If the owners were told that selling puppies from puppy mills is wrong, they'd laugh at you, and tell you that the places they buy the dogs from are clean...

I go to pet shops all the time. i go in play with the bunnys and gueneapigs, Look at the birds and snakes. Buy what I need then leave. sometimes I just go in and play with the animals and leave.

Not necessarily...most of the animals in pet shops come from places exactly like puppy mills. Haven't you heard the stories of Marshall Farms? They supply nearly 1...
