If you have no credit card, ask the vet to let you pay with a post dated check, or pay part of it now and post date a check for the rest. My vet does that when I don't have the available funds immediately.

The stuff you described sounds exactly like what you might get when they take blood at the hospital. They wrap it around a piece of gauze to hold it in place until you quit bleeding, but I don't know what it is called either.

The vet should be able to give you something for the fleas. Mine gave my dog a pill the works for pregnant dogs.

Yeah, Some of us don't mind going and getting a great big juicy steak. Me included, but that doesn't seem to be considered animal abuse, as cattle are raised to slaughter. I can't stand OZZY by the way.
