I think in general small dogs are easier to travel with or find a sitter for. They fit in a smaller car, their crates are smaller, some hotels only allow small dogs, and kennels usually charge much less and have more room for them. I travel with my...

A yorkie breeder I know recommends keeping a savings account for vet costs. She says it's much more practical especially if you have more than one dog. That way you don't have to deal with paper work or worry about what is covered and for how much....
