I trained my puppies in a similar way to candagirl.

I got a playpen and put their wee wee pad, water, dry food, bed and toys inside. A few weeks later I expanded the playpen to twice the size, so they had more room to play and run.

I'm sorry to hear of your brother's loss :(

I can't give advice, since my only experience with pets is from my 2 puppies.

I don't know about prices in other parts of the country, but a pet store near my house in Manhattan is selling very small white Chihuahua puppies for $5,000 each

I'm totally freaked out- confirmed my fears :(

He probably might need surgery since it could be 5+ hours before I find it "out", if I'm at work.
