My neighbors Chi had a section and had milk the same day. I wouldn't let this worry you. She'll be fine and you won't have the worries of another litter.

I am in Texas, but heard from a friend that a law is about to pass a law that a household cannot own more than 6 dogs, and if you do have more than 6, then you have to surrender them to the government. Please tell me this isn't true

Absolutely stellar advice. Next time don't get 2 puppies. Get your next puppy when your dogs are seniors, they will help train the new puppy, who wants to hang with the big dogs. I'd definitely go with the short leash. Better a few weeks of interrup...
