Then I would watch for her temp to drop under 97 to determine whelping. She seems to be holding between 97 and 98 degrees.

What kind of a thermometer are you using and how old is it? 97.3 is a low temp for a dog. I have never had a dog drop that low. It sounds as if your thermometer is off. You may need to buy a new one.

You are right about the eating. I really don't think it applies to Poms. I have had them eat also and even between pups.
The x-ray can confirm pregnacy at 45 days. If the bones are well calcified you my be closer to 55 to 58 days.

Well the way I look at it. 2007 was such a disappointment that it landed me smack dab in the hospital under a 72 hr lockdown because my hopes and dreams were falling apart. So it couldn't be any worse if I actually had no expectations for 2008. RIGH...
