I'd bring him in at night.. Even if that's not WHY he's barking, it will keep him from keeping the neighborhood awake. Does he bark at night while in the house?

If you've been bathing her when she comes home from the lake, and she doesn't have itchy, dry, flaky skin, I'd just keep doing it the way you're doing it. You don't want her so stinky that nobody wants to touch her! LOL
