I am leery of herbal remedies when the prescriptions are working. Herbals can have bad effects if you are continuing prescribed drugs. Be very caustious when looking down this path.

It is the same with show and field beagles. The show beagles don't look much like the working lines.

I have to say I would stay away from very small breeds. Children who are young may accidentally harm the dog without trying much. I would seek out a pretty stout dog.
