Maybe you should consider getting a small dog since it will be around a smaller child. Big dogs tend to be a little bit bullier!

You probably want to get a dog that would SCARE an intruder away not by his fierceness* but by his looks. Those dogs tend to be better around small children.

With the clicker I found my dog was AFRAID of it, and when I would click it he would run away and quit what ever bad it was he was doing. So now I use it to get him to stop barking, jumping, and all of that.
