You were right to pass, Pits shouldn't be left unsupervised with other dogs.

Other than that you sound responsible and would probably be a good Pit owner in general.

I understand your fustration you have to think a lot of people are not educated. I believe it best to research before getting a breed and certainly before breeding. Unfortunately many people don't do that.

First I'd change to a better quality food which can help.

How much excercise and what kind? You might need to give her more rather then just cutting down food.

If that still doesn't work I'd take a trip to the vet to rule out ...
