I was told the larger breeds can stay on puppy food until 2 yrs old. The vet said larger breeds don't always reach their full growth until then.

Don't know what it means, but my 14 yr old chow/shepherd does the same thing. She doesn't do it all the time, but at least once or twice a day.

Meridith- shelter dogs are great. I may have pure siberians, but I also have a chow/shepherd we got from our local shelter 13 1/2 yrs ago. She's a great companion.
