Maybe it just happens with little dogs? My akita doesn't smell any different when he sleeps, but his feet sweat a lot.

Do you know if getting dogs neutered affects their growth or coat? I don't see how they could develop into full "male" dogs without testosterone.

I'm thinking of getting mine fixed VERY shortly.

The funny thing is, it only seems to be when he's sleeping. After he wakes up and walks around, you can really smell it...just like buttered popcorn. After a while it wears off and he smells like a normal dog.
