Holli was truly a Christmas Gift
Holli spent from Thanksgiving to Christmas 2004 in a humane shelter. She was picked up by animal control as a stray. For some unknown reason people would stop briefly by her kennel and pass her by. She was beautiful in all ways -- a truly regal Doberman lady. On Christmas Eve last year I decided to take her home for the holidays as a "foster dog." My husband is a veterinarian and as a result of a health examination he found a suspicious lump and we feared the worse. Soon after Christmas last year Holli had her surgery and the prognosis was poor. She was truly a blessing. . . sweet, even tempered and obedient and most of all she was loved for the 5 months we spent with her. We were blessed by her presence and soon after her surgery we signed her adoption papers.
There will never be another Holli--but every Christmas I am reminded of her gentle, kind, loving spirit and I smile each time I see a holly (Holli) wreath. It's true Dobie's do leave paw prints on your heart. Please consider a shelter pet before you buy another pet.
