IN MEMORY OF THE BEST CAT I'VE EVER HAD.

We just burried our beautiful, sweet cat Cassie; who was about 9 1/2 years old. We adopted her at 2 yrs old from an SPCA. Actually, she adopted me. She wouldn't let me out of the room where she was until I paid attention to her. She had cute ways about her, for instance; if you would but anything new on the floor that wasn't there before, like a piece of paper, your shoes, etc..she would go over to it and sit on it, I guess to check it out; it was funny. She has been so sweet and the best friend, besides my cocker spaniel, Sammy, who passed a few years ago. Cassie was so good natured, and people friendly as any cat could be..then, if a dog came up to our backyard fence, she would creep up to him and chase him away, so quietly with her movements and a little growl and stare. The dog didn't know what to make of it. That's the only time she ever would show that side of her. Unlike most cats, Cassie didn't hide when people entered the house. She would socialize every time. People loved her.

She had developed a tumor between the lungs, behind the heart. She didn't change her personality all the final months she had. We had her to several vets/specialist. Surgery was a 50/50 chance of survival, and then if survived, would probably not live very long. Before she suffered greatly, we finally decided to put her to rest. I loved her very much. We burried her next to Sammy - and will get her a loving memorial plaque like Sam.

This photo is from last Christmas '08, before she started to decline in health and lost all the weight and much of her hair.

Thanks for taking the time to read about our calico, Cassie. xooxo
