My beloved best friend Dutchess
Dutchess blessed our lives in June 1999 at the age of 2. She was a well behaved loyal companion from day one who just so happened to choose me as her pet. She was sweet, playful, hard headed, and well, just down right perfect. She has moved with us all over the country and adjusted well every time. She took in our kitten and trained him well. We then brought in 2 other dogs into our family and Dutch jumped right in, putting them in their place and taught them the way she wants them to behave...which was good.
There was never a day that I didn't come home from work and she wasn't waiting at the top of the stairs for me. She would forego her nice warm thick bed, instead she would ball up my laundry next to bed and choose to sleep there.
After discovering she had heart disease we tried different avenues as far as meds go. They worked for a short while but soon after it was obvious she wasn't responding any longer. I had to make the choice that no one wants to make....I didn't want her to suffer any longer. We said our final good byes 3 days ago and I miss her more today then I did Wednesday.
I love you Dutchess. You were the best friend I'd ever had the honor of having. I hope you understand why I did what I did and you can forgive me. I love you my sweet Dutch. God Bless You
