Important: Remove attachment spring from bottle before filling with water. Check for gasket. Fill bottle to top. Screw cap tightly. Attach spring bottle holder. Test by pressing control ball.Easy Training: An exposed ring of water surrounds the control ball of the Lixit Water Bottle at all times. When thirsty, your dog will be attracted by the smell of this exposed water at the tube tip. Instinctively, they will nuzzle and lick the control ball, and start drinking. If this "self-training" is uncertain, you can loosen the cap until the tube starts to drip. This dripping will attract the dog and initiate the training process. Once dog is trained, retighten the cap.
