Flexi's patented one-hand-operated braking and retraction system is as easy as pie to handle. This means that in any situation whatever you have your dog completely under control. The brake button and brake lock are ergonomically conceived, and they are child's play to operate. Hold the flexi leash by the hand grip. The cord or tape leash will run in and out without sagging. The dog will enjoy maximum freedom of movement. By pressing the brake button slightly downward with your thumb you curtail your dog's freedom of movement. You now have it under control. The brake button releases automatically when you lift your thumb, and the cord or tape leash will again run in and out freely.Recalling your dog: Keep the brake button pressed with your thumb. Swing your arm backwards, pulling the dog towards you. Let go of the brake button again, and swing your arm forwards. The cord will retract automatically.Brake lock: In addition, every leash has a brake lock mode. This enables you to stop the leash at whatever length you like. We would recommend, however, to use the brake lock on your walks only when you want to have the dog follow you to heel. Here's how to activate the brake lock: Press the brake button down, and then push the brake lock button forwards. This fixes the leash at its present length. Releasing the brake lock: Just return the brake lock button to position with your thumb. It is your responsibility, when walking your dog, to make sure that you have it under control at all times. Just think ahead and consider how your dog is likely to behave in critical situations. In the interest of safety, if there is any reason to anticipate a potential problem with your dog you should have your dog follow you to heel. This is especially the case if other people or animals are close by. Please be aware of your responsibility as a dog owner, so as to ensure that nobody will be endangered by your dog and the leash. Never try to grasp the cord/tape or all belt leash, and do not wrap it around any part of the body, or you could risk injuring yourself.Checking your flexi leash before use. The cord/tape or all belt must not be damaged or suffer from extreme wear and break-down or come lose. The collar must be in good condition. Should the collar or the leash nonetheless break apart or come loose, please brake the retracting cord/tape or all belt leash immediately, and turn your head away to avoid injury. To avoid the risk of injuries like cutting, burning and amputations to infants and children, do not use the leash near or while operating an infant or child stroller, toy wagon or any other device used to transport infants and children. The leash cord/tape or all belt and the leash hook can cause serious eye, face, neck, and head injuries.
