NOTE- Read complete instructions, training and safety guidelines (included in package) for this product prior to use.Attention: For comfort, safety and effectiveness of this product, please ensure that you check the fit of your pet's collar frequently. The guide for this product describes proper collar fitting. If any skin irritation is observed, discontinue the use of this collar for a few days. If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.Step One: Fitting the collar to your pet.Be sure to clean both your pet and the contact probes once a week. This will help in preventing any irritation from developing. Clean probes by wiping with alcohol. Wash your dog's neck with veterinarian approved shampoo or soap. Your receiver comes with an adjustable collar. Use the red collar supplied to measure your pet's neck. With an ink pen, mark the appropriate length. Using scissors, cut the collar using the mark as a guide. Seal the edge of the cut by taking a match or lighter along the frayed edge. This causes the collar to melt along the edges. This stops the collar from unraveling. Caution: Because you are using heat to melt the edges, use caution not to touch the edges with your fingers until it has cooled. Do not allow children to attempt this step. When threading your strap through the clasp, make sure that the laddered center section is facing out. To use your own collar, use the provided collar as a template. Punch similar holes in your alternative collar, and unscrew and remove the outer metal probes and washers. Use the washers and probes that were removed from the receiver to attach your alternate collar to the receiver.Step Two: BatteriesCharge batteries, then insert.Step Three: Place collar on your pet.Place receiver collar on your dog with the receiver hanging directly beneath your dog's neck. Adjust the collar securely so that the probes touch the skin of your dog's neck. Make sure the collar is not so tight as to cause discomfort. When the collar is properly installed, you should be able to get one finger between the probes and the dog's skin.CautionDo not leave collar on too tight. Doing so can cause pressure necrosis, a condition that results in skin deterioration. Check your pet's collar regularly. Remove the collar weekly and wash your dog's neck and probes with mild soap (approved by a veterinarian). If a rash or sores form, take the collar off for a few days. When replacing it, make sure that it is not too tight.
