How It WorksThe unit is activated when the internal microphone picks up the constant barking sound from the dog.The activated unit emits a two-second ultrasonic sound that can only be heard by the dog.Startled by the high-pitched sound, the dog should stop barking, as it will associate its bark with this unpleasant noise.Installing the BatteryAfter removing the battery door, install a 9-volt alkaline battery and replace the door.Note: When the battery voltage is low, the red indicator light will flash once every six seconds signifying that the battery should be replaced.Operating the UnitPlace the unit in the area where the dog is barking.Note: The unit should be ten feet or less from the barking dog.The unit is equipped with a Manual Correction button that can be used to correct unwanted behaviors such as lying on the furniture or getting into the trash can. Simply push the Manual Correction button and the unit will emit a two-second ultrasonic sound. If the button is held down, the unit will repeat the process in two-second intervals (two seconds on, two seconds off, two seconds on, etc.).Note: While in Manual Correction mode, the unit should be 20 feet or less from the misbehaving dog.Caution: The Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent System is not weatherproof. When operating outside, place in a protected area such as under eaves, awnings or other overhang, shielding it from rain or moisture.
