As with any replicated aquarium d‚cor, we recommend that the reef sculpture be rinsed in freshwater prior to set-up to ensure all the packing material residue or dust is removed from the tank before introducing fish. InstructionsRemove decorative top surround, set aside.Remove screw from base of light fixture.Lift light fixture and acrylic lid up and slide to the side for easy access to the inside of the aquarium.Remove foam insert and any protective packing from inside the aquarium.Insert the Duetto 100 submersible power filter into reef sculpture, so that the section cups are against the dry tube.Run the electrical cord down the dry tube.(If purchased) Insert the stealth 25 watt submersible aquarium heater into reef sculpture.Run the electrical cord down the dry tube.Place the aquarium on the decorative base, and route the electrical cords through the hole in decorative base.Place the aquarium on a sturdy, level surface.Add sand or gravel to the bottom of tank around the reef sculpture.Add purified water and between « and _ of the 5 gallon pre-packed synthetic salt, if maintaining a salt-water environment, The water line should be «" below the top of the aquarium. Note: Avoid splashing any water inside the dry tube or near the electrical wires and light bulb socket. Make sure the filter remains inside the reef and is submerged.Affix light unit back on the dry tube and secure acrylic lid onto acrylic cylinder, pulling all cords through the dry tube and through the decorative base.Replace screw at base of light fixture.Screw light bulb into fixturePlug electrical components into an outlet.Mount the decorative top surround on the aquarium and enjoy. *Never attempt to move the aquarium full or partially full of water. Do not move or lift the aquarium by the acrylic drytube. NoteYou may need to adjust the rotating filter head, so that the flow gently breaks the water line for proper aeration. Refer to the instruction manual included in the filter box. Check the salinity of your aquarium with a salinity meter. The recommended salinity for your tank should be 1.020. Let the aquarium run for 24 hours and then verify the salinity. Adding FishAllow your aquarium to operate for at least a few hours preferably 24 hours before adding any fish. This will allow ample time for circulation and oxygenation of water and insure proper filter performance.
