Using a garden hose, gently rinse the sand until the water runs nearly clear. Pourout the water and place the sand into the aquarium. Another easy way to rinse CaribSea Aragonite Aquarium Sand is to cut off the upper corners of the bag, and put the garden hose in one side and let the milky water flow out the other until the water runs nearly clear. Then place the sand into the empty aquarium. Add the seawater, rocks and decorations.Hint: Place the empty bag on top of the sand, then pour the seawater on top of it to help break the water and avoid stirring up the sand bed. Now start pump and filters. Any remaining cloudiness will disappear within 24 hours.Important: Placing new substrate over an established sand/gravel bed can be damaging to aquatic life. If adding the sand to an older system, gently mix new material into the existing substrate bed with your fingers. For added safety, this process can be done in sections over the course of a few days.
