API Pond Care Pond SaltPond Care Pond Salt is not a table salt or a rock salt, but an all-natural sea salt used in the pond to improve fish gill function and reduce stress. During periods of stress and disease, healthy gill function (osmoregulation) is disturbed. This can cause a loss of electrolytes, leading to serious health problems for fish. Pond Salt provides the essential electrolytes fish need to survive.
