New Installations: Dissolve a sufficient amount of Tropic Marin Sea Salt in the aquarium or a plastic container until your hydrometer indicates a specific gravity of 1.020 to 1.022 at a temperature of 75 to 77 degrees F.Partial Water Changes: Prepare a solution of Tropic Marin Sea Salt in a separate plastic container to the correct specific gravity and temperature. No more than 10% should be changed at one time, once every 1 to 2 weeks. Replace evaporated water with fresh water only, as the salt does not evaporate. Check your hydrometer weekly for the proper specific gravity.
