OK-- Now I am a true beginner when it comes to puppies...but I want to share some of my experiences with you all in case it may help. The dog trainer that came to visit Riley our pup showed us some ways to curb her agressiveness. He told us to have her wear a leash around the house for some hours a day...tug at her when she does something wrong such as jump on furniture or bite me or my husband. ALso, using a sharp growl like phrase such as "off" DOES HELP!!! One last thing: to curb barking at us for attention, simply turn your back to the dog with your arms crossed...each time she barks at you. A friend called me ion the phone and riley prioceeded to bark....I did this within 5 minutes...she barked at me 3 times, and each time she stopped and when on to grab a toy--took her attn somewhere else. He said NEVER give a toy or yor attention to a barking dog...all you are doing is reinforcing her behavior. So, sorry this is so long but i thought this might help some people!!!
