I finally e-mailed them asking them specific questions. Here were my questions, and their responses. Take a look!
*** (1) Why do you price your puppies so expensive? (Up to $8,000.)
(2) Why do you breed your puppies to be so small, knowing that when they are that tiny they might have serious health problems?
(3) Why do you have so many breeds for sale? Do you keep all of them in the same place? Do you keep them in pens/kennels? (I counted over 40 purebreeds and mixed breeds.) ***
Here was the "puppy consultant"'s response. *** Our puppies are price by their worth. Understand breeding a puppy that is only going to be 1.5 to 2 lbs full grown is very time consuming and costly. We breed puppies so small because that is what the people want. They do not have any serious health problems as long as they are well cared for. We have many breeds for sale so that we can satisfy the general public. The puppies that we have for sale are kept in the same place and we keep them in kennels. We allow them time playing together outside the kennel everyday. It is only a very few that stay here for any length of time. The puppies here are very well cared for and all of us who work here love dogs. I hope I have answered your questions. ***
I responded to their e-mail and asked them this: *** Can you please e-mail me a picture of where your puppies are kept on a daily basis? Any other photos you'd like to send would be appreciated. Thank you again for your time! ***
I tried to be nice but also getting to the point and not beating around the bush. I hope they respond back. I'll keep you guys updated. Do you think I was being too mean, or just getting to the point? Thanks in advance.
No you were polite. I am actually really surprised that they responded to your questions. A lot of the time, big "breeders" like that will only respond with a "have a nice day" bc they know your intentions are not to buy a puppy, but to drill them with questions..
