Oscar will definitly be getting some toys and treats. Christmas is also his birthday too. He is turning three this year. And we are currently looking for another puppy to be his friend. Thats not the only excuse for us getting another dog though.
I already bought tons of toys. Thanks to whomever on here told me to go to the dollar store! Ha they don't know the difference and since they tear up the stuffed animals so fast, and naturally those are their favorite toys, it has saved me a bundle! They get treats too. I just buy new collars and leashes whenever the mood strikes so they don't need that right now. Their favorite thing is a new "baby" to rip the stuffing out of. LOL
gina- lol @ dollar store!!! i buy the dollar store squeakies, and the ones that are baby stuffed animals with no squeakers (i can only take soooo much squeaking) and the ones from walmarts 92 cent bin. they love those and they are indestructible.
our rescue is doing sponsor and eskie for xmas and i am going to the $store to get a whole bunch of stuff fro the fosters..
*if anyone wants to sponsor a dog for christmas, let me know!!! we want all the fosters to have a very merry day!!!
The dogs make out better than me at Christmas. They are getting 2 huge bags of rawhide flips, greenies, tear stain remover (which they won't be too thrilled over), rawhide retriever rolls for the bigger dogs, plus a new selection of stuffies.
Check out your local thrift store for dog stuffies. St. Vincent De Paul store here in town, is selling their stuffed animals for just .10 cents each. I bought 19 the last time I was there. Of course you have to select them carefully, you don't want stuffies with easily removable eyes or noses. Sometimes I score big time and find stuffies with rattles or noise makers in them. You can't beat the price.
Mine get Christmas Gifts all wrapped and under the tree Christmas morning. Then they have to open them on their own. This will be our boxer Jersey's first Christmas with us so I am looking forward to seeing how she is going to react to presents.
heck yeah our pets get gifts..cats and the dogs...we even wrap them and let them open them theirselves..its fun to watch..this year is our first x-mas with the new pups(zee-na and trinity american pit bull terriors)i cant wait.=)
yes but I don't know what to get! I was going to get some bones my vet recommended but I can't find them ANYWHERE. She got them at Petco but they don't have them anymore. She said they were all-natural bones made out of stuff like carrots and potatoes but the consistancy of a 'bone' so they could chew on them. Anyone know what this is? Or have a better idea? :(
Absolutely, positively!!!!!! What fun buying them stuff. I got them treats, and a bed, a coat, new leash and collar, doggie candy canes, and these really cute stuffed squirrels with squeakers in their tails and bodies. Toby snooped through the bags when I wasn't looking and found his squirrel. It was so funny, he was dragging it all over the house with the cardboard thing still attached to it.
hey mydoxiesrmybabies, what ur describing sounds like a NYLABONE,they have all different kinds, ones for strong chewers, small dogs, big dogs...also they are edible..very safe...digestible...all different flavors(ham+cheese,carrot,peanutbutter,bacon,ect...)
make sure you read the package though cause they do make durable ones that are not edible...my dogs are very stong chewers,i only get them edible cause nothing is durable for them they chew through everything(my couch my boxspring ect...lol)
That's what we thought too (that they were those edible nylabones) but she said it wasn't the nylabone brand and that the ingredient 'beef byproducts' in the nylabone didn't sound like what she had gotten. oh well. maybe we'll just get some yummy edible treats! :)
