Ok, we got some Alpo dog food giving to us, and gave our dogs just a little bit to see what they thought of it. and they love it. they're so much more excited about that food, than the food we're feeding now.
so my question is: is Alpo dog food a good food, or not????? thanks!
Alpo is not a good food. They may like the taste, but the nutrition is the equivalent of junk food! I will give you a link to a list of great foods momentarily. Or it may be tomorrow depending on how fast I find the list.
Also if you have any food questions after seeing the list, the person who posted it is very very knowledgable about dog food. I am sure she (along with many others here) will be glad to help you find the right food for your babies.
I would never feed my dog Alpo. They may like it, but that is because it is full of fat and things that are bad for them. You shouldn't feed alpo just because they like it, feed something that is actually good for them.
If you email them and tell them you would like to try their food but haven't seen coupons around, put your name and home address in the email and they will mail you coupons for a few dollars off of the rolls, a small bag of food and a large bag.
Does anyone know anything about Authority and Nature's Recipe and also Pro Plan? Also Mandy got hold of a piece of chocolate. I took it away from her before she eat the whole thing but how much to they have to eat before it makes them sick? Hope she doesn't start puking. She is suppose to have surgery tomorrow and hear she eats something she has never had (with peanuts and carmel no less) I think Christmas it was accidently dropped down in her bed. That is where she found it. Probably one of the kids that was over that day dropped it.
We were using Wellness and it seemed to be fine, but my dogs had bad gas. I recently changed to Natural Balance due to suggestions on this forum. It is wonderful. They only have gas about once a week instead of fifty times a day!
sandblagbu ~ it depends on the size of the dog and the amount of chocolate it ate. Small dogs would do worse with smaller amounts of chocolate. Big dogs probably wouldn't be affected by a small amount of chocolate. Sounds like the candy was chocolate covered and not all chocolate. If you got it from her quickly, she should be fine. Baker's chocolate is really bad for them. Kai was once fed a brownie by a little boy and he was a tiny puppy at the time. He was fine.
