Yesterday I was looking online for an available American eskimo puppy . I found an adorable puppy online on a site . It said the puppy is 8 weeks old and will be around 9 lbs full grown. 9 pounds would qualify the puppy as a toy , but its on the cusp of toy and miniture , so I decided to email the breeder to find out for sure whether or not the puppy was a toy. I got an email back from her, and it turns out she doenst even know what the puppy is, and was jsut estimating its weight based on its parents. Obvously I decided not to get a puppy from her. I was just wondering what your opinions our on this.

i have 2 american eskimos, one a mini and one a toy (in height) who weight more than my mini, but is a proper weight for his frame.
i am not sure of your question, i would like to help can you be more specific?
i would not buy from an online breeder; there are lots of eskies in rescue and shelters, or if you tell me where oyu are i can point you towards a reputable breeder. what size eskie are you interested in?
by the time we got home and unpacked the car, the mud was gone. i dont know where it went b/c my truck was clean too, but whos complaining? if they are messy from the yard, they take a crate nap for 30 mins, and by then the dirt is gone. thats one of my favorite things about eskies!
and they never get that doggie smell, ever. they are now 9-10 wks w/o a bath, and someone yesterday asked me if they had just come from the groomer, they were so clean. she didnt believe me that it had been 10 weeks since their last bath. its usually monthly but i have been lazy :)
Hello everyone, I have been researching and looking into buying a toy sized eskie, but have not had much luck finding a breeder. I'm just looking for a pet (not a show dog), and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice or point me towards a good breeder. I live in California, and would like to buy one in state so that it doesn't have to go through the trauma of shipping. Thanks!
