I have a puppy that I found. I think its a pitt bull terrier. Anyway I found a girl that wants the puppy and is willing to pay for the shipping and handling, only thing is that neither of us know how to ship the dog. We want cheap safe way to ship it. Any advice would be appreciated. My email is email@example.com or IM me at xtatik_tatted on yahoo mesenger. Thank you.
I'm purchasing a puppy from someone who lives in OH, I am in GA. The ticket cost 170.00 (I believe it, but I've shipped a dog CA to MI a few years ago and it was only 80.00) So I think rates have went up a bit. You simply call the airlines, put your name on the sending end of ticket, and her name on the receiving end. We couldnt buy the tickets until seven days before the flight. It was 30.00 for the crate, you can't ship puppies until they are over nine weeks.
Only tip I can add is, don't send any papers with the pup/on the flight. Mail those seperately, they have a tendancy to get lost. However, ask the airlines what type of paperwork you will need at the airport, and make sure you dont send those until after you drop off the dog...hehe.
Also, vet check/up to date shots required before you can fly them anywhere.
how long ago did you find the puppy? just wondering if you have done everything you can to find the owner first. someone might be heartbroken looking for it. did you notify the shelters? put an ad in the newspapers? most found ads are free. just wondering. i would hate to track my missing pup down and find out it had been sent to another state.

I didn't see anyone mention, but you need to have a health certificate from a licensed DVM to ship a dog/puppy. Did you take the dog to the vets and get it all of it's shots? The vet must sign a health certificate within 10 days of the shipping.
The dog must be at least 8 weeks old to ship. How old is the puppy?
How did you find the potential owner for the puppy? Be careful if you do not know the person personally.
Unless the new owner pays for the shipping ahead of time, you will be responsible to pay to ship the dog and then try to collect from them.
It cost $180 to ship my Shih-tzu from Chicago, IL to Austin, TX, one way.
Am curious to find out the answers to my questions.
I need a health certificate that was within 10 days of my flight...that showed that she got he had been check out from the vet...He needed a chip in his neck that had all his vaccinations in it...but that might just be international....
and I had his passport also, which showed his vaccinations....
$80 bucks for everything? vet check Health cert. shots crate and microchip???
HOLY COW THAT'S CHEAP you're going to have to tell me who and where you got all that done, maybe I could use them... Wow it boggles the mind to think that I thought I had found the cheapest place to ship air cargo :P
American airlines was 80? really, man, where have I been?

I picked up my most recent addition on 3-26-05. She flew from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Seattle. The plane fare was $227.22. I didn't have to pay for the crate because I sent it back to the breeder. Raja weighed in at 30? or so pounds. She flew on Northwest. They have regular and VIP cargo for live animals. Her vet cert was attached to her paperwork on the kennel (crate). Shipping cost depends on the weight or size of the crate, but most now use weight, so the plane ticket price will depend on how big the baby is.

wow. we recieved our first french bulldog about three months ago . he came from missouri to seattle. we paid an additional 275 for shipping on top of the 1500 we paid for our pup. he only weighed 6 pounds .
Yeh, I ship sopme of my Sheltie pups and have used Delta and they have done me good for service and safety and all but it is not cheap It runs about 175 - 200 plus the cost of the crate and the health certificate. I let buyers pay the shipping and I pay for the crate and the HC, if their is a cheaper way I have not heard of it.
