I went to the UYR website and found I wonderful little guy named tweedle but he is already 13. Is that too old you think? Also does anybody know of any other website I could check out? I am looking for a small chihuahua or a yorkie.
I don't want to break the rules of the forum, but I know a few good breeders search site so if you'd like to email me I can email them to you. There is always petfinder as well. It contains all rescue/shelter animals from across the states.
i checked out petfind.com but I did not really see a dog I clicked with thats is why I am still considering Tweedle because I looked at his picture and knew he would be wonderful, but I don't know if Icould handle another dog dying in a year or 2.
Also be aware that a dog that age might possibly have many health problems. I know it doesn't seem fair to the poor dog that sits in a shelter waiting for old age to come and take him away either. . Still, it's hard getting attached knowing that he won't have many years left, but there are pople who can do it. It At least he wouldn't die alone or unloved and deserves just as much love and happiness as the six week old pup in the run next to him that is more likely to receive. Sigh.
It is still horrible to think about what happen to my baby. The breeder is refusing to do anything and calling my vet and I a liar because she thinks I still have the dog. My baby was fine when she came to me and had a great check-up , however, the vet did mention that her eyes were wide spread so there was a chance she had it. She said she thought she didn't though because she seemed "all there". However, 3 days later I woke up and she couldn't move, so we rushed her to the vet, and they did a head ultrasound and confirmed she had hydrocephalus.
chimama, yes it is horrible, and very, very sad. I think that your vet should send a coy of his medical records to the breeder . If he won't then I would ask him for a copy of the records ... you're entitled by law to have it ... and I would send it to the breeder myself.
Aren't you in Calfornia? I think that California has a puupy lemone law.

We both are in the same boat I also struggle to decide betweenJack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua for my apartment
Dog walker in my city ( West Newyork , NJ) suggests I should get jack Russekk Terrier I have seen a lots of them in my neighbourhood. I kind of like its personality very very much
I think it all depends on what you like
My suggestion is to ck out the dogs , their personalities by watching them. Go to a park and simply watch the dogs . You will see so many kinds of Breeds You should feel which one you feel comforatble before making commitment to keep one
