Hello everyone, I have a cocker spaniel puppy and I was wondering if I need to get a smaller crate for him. He is only 5 months. He does not poop in his crate but he does pee in there. I have a large crate and I'm thinking about getting a medium crate. Any suggestions??????
I agree with taking out the blankets, if you use them. Kula used to pee in his crate whenever we left (never in the night or if we were in the house, only if we left). Our trainer recommended that we take out the bedding...he peed once, had to stand in it and never did it again. He has all of his blankets back now too!
A couple of times I placed a pillow in there for him and each time he would pee on it. I did buy a smaller cage and I placed a pillow in there for him and he hasn't wet his cage yet. I hope he keeps up the good work. It just seems like it would be uncomfortable to not have a blanket or anything in the cage. But I'm not a dog so I guess I really don't know.
