My bulldogs hair started falling on her back. I noticed that it was only falling where I had beed staying her with doggie perfume(from vets office). The Vet said it was foliculitis(infected hair follicals). He said it was not caused by the perfume. I read up on folliculitis and it is triggered by an allergy. I am sure it is the perfume that has caused this. I was wondering if anyone has had a dog allergic to perfume. If so what did it do to the dog?
If you bump the thread, it moves back to the top so people can read it.
My bulldog also has a few little spots where her hair is thin. I've been reading all sorts of websites to try and find out what it is. She was treated for mange a couple months ago and that is gone, but I read that dogs are also highly susceptible to staph infections of the skin and that it can look like a small reddish patch with no hair, and a little bit dry or crusty.
Unfortunately bulldogs have soooo many skin issues. It could be so many things.
Bulldogs are so susceptible to skin allergies. Also depending on your dog's age, but from 6mths to 18 mths, they may go through a mange like stage where the hormones are running rampid through their body. I recommend a coal tar shampoo and an oatmeal shampoo to dry and soothe any *hot spots*
If that isn't it, it could be an allergy to any host of things....
