Just about 20 minutes ago we went to walk Breezer & everything was good, she was calm, just sniffing around & then we passed by this house & the dog was loose because I think the owner opened the gate to go out & talk to my dad & his dog slipped out.
Well his dog slipped out & went right up to Breezer & started sniffing her & right when he came up she snapped at his head & started fighting with the other dog & I let go of the leash(STUPID ME!!!!!!). My dad & the other guy kept trying to break up it up, they didn't put their hands between them because they would bite them for sure! I just stood there like an idiot!! Omg I'm so mad at myself & my dad was tyring to grab the leash & finally the other dog tried to run away but Breezer kept chasing after him! ughh & finally the other guy got Breezers leash & the other dog was limping a little bit :(:( The owner was really nice though, he lives really close to us & told us that his dog was male & that he was 6 years old & stuff.
I'm just so scared that the owner might call the police or something & make them put down Breezer!!! She's not even my dog & I feel so irresponsible!! The other dog didn't really try to bite back at Breezer, just tried to defend himself & run away. The other dog was definately limping. I'm so freaked out right now & I am SO mad at myself for letting go of the leash.
*EDIT* Oh yeah & Breezer is the akita that I am babysitting for my aunt for those of you who don't know.

Don't feel bad, even people who know better can do dumb things when a dog fight starts.
I used to groom dogs and we had growling and name-calling in the grooming room all the time.
But one day another groomer lost control of a dog and it ran up to the one I was clipping and started cussing up a storm.
The dog I was working on jumped off the table and went after the other dog. If you don't know, when dog are being groomed, they are usually tied to the table with a short leash attached to a hooked pole that is screwed to the table.
Of course, when my dog went for the other dog, over went my grooming table, my clippers and scissors went flying and I have two dogs trying to go for each other, one of which is still attached to the overturned table.
I just lost it, I was so mad. I reached over and unclipped my dog so that he wouldn't strangle himself and PUT MY HANDS BETWEEN THE TWO DOGS.
Of course, my hands ended up in dog mouths. Believe it or not, God was looking out for me, because this totally stopped the fight. Both dogs got this horrified look on their faces, like they'd been caught spitting on the Cross, spit my hand out of their mouths and got down on the floor.
The other groomer picked up her dog, I picked mine up and we put them in cages to "cool off." Later, everyone was groomed successfully and sent home.
But you see, dropping the leash was nothing. Here I was, supposedly a profesional and did such a stupid thing...
I hope both dogs are okay and you are over your fright. Good luck.
