Hey y'all... quick question... I have 5 golden retrievers and live right off a lake. My puppies love to go swimming and always come in damp and smelly. I searched online for something and I found an Ionic Breeze - but that costs about $300 bucks for a decent one that won't break in 5 minutes. I also found these bulbs called Ozonelite it says they are an air purifying light bulb- and they are only $40! Anyone heard of them? I think I'm gonna buy one and see what happens but I wanted to see if anyone heard of it first - the site is www.ozonelite.com if anyone is curious.
I have 6 collies a springer a pyr mix and a schnauzer that all live in the house..we are in southern mississippi....I bought an air purifier at Loews that works like the Ionic...it sure is making a difference... also if you hang a dryer sheet in front of you filter from your furnance that helps or buy scented filters..
We just got our 4th puppy this weekend. We do have an Ionic Breeze. I bought it on eBay from Sharper Image. It was reconditioned by Sharper Image and has the same 5 yr warranty. I paid about $100 for it with the shipping. It definitely works well!
I use Odoban - it is wonderful!! it will remove all smells from surfaces. I also have a rainbow rain mate -by rainbow vac. You can buy them off e bay for about $50.00. I also put the Odoban in the water There is no messy parts you take off the top and put water add your scent - plug it in and cut it on. It does help make the house smell crisp and clean. You can also buy other types of scents to go in the rain mate. You may want to check it out.
Hi CJ, I own a beauty salon and it gets really stinky in there with the perms and all. I have often wondered about those things. They sell one at the beauty supply that is supposed to take care of those odors. And really there is nothing worse then a beauty salon, so I am sure you pups would be like killing the odor of cheap perfume.
I can definitly relate!! Do you have tile or carpeting? ON the tile many breeders have told me the same thing wash down tile with white vinagar its enzymes destroy the urine then what i do is wash my tile with bleach then rinse with water!! NO DOGGIE SMELL AT ALL!!! Carpets there is a pet and oder and stain remover called OUT the web site is www.outinternational.com put this in your carpet cleaner and you wont believe the difference!!!!!!! Good-Luck.
I have 18 dogs in my house, and you wouldn't know it, other than the slobber on the leather couch and big-screen. I get my carpest professionally cleaned every 3 months with a special pet odor fighter, and I have boxers.
They don't have the musky scent others have, except maybe when they get in from the rain but it's gone as soon as they dry. I rarely bath them either, no more than 4x per year unless there is a reason (illness, whelping, showing). I think that over-washing make dogs produce MORE oil and scent. Also, I only have one male and he is 5x stinkier than the girls. Hormones of unneutered males are a big factor. What about fabreeze??
I had a April Air ozone cleaner. I really liked it but it broke about a year ago. I just looked at the state fair and they were selling them for $600. OUCH. I think I will look on ebay because it really helped in the basement for the musty smells!
I own the ozonelite and love it!!!! i put it over my dogs bed in the laundry room and the odors are gone. i leave it on during the day, it's only a 23 watt bulb so i'm not worried about electricity, and the odors are done. AND there are NO filters to clean, IT'S THE BEST!!! hope you enjoy!!!
