Our Pembroke Welsh Corgi has a tentative diagnosis of Degenerative Myelopathy from our regular vet. We are seeing a specialist in neurology tomorrow morning and they want to do a myelogram. I have heard horror stories about the procedure--some with dogs being totally paralyzed afterwards. Our Corgi is partially paralyzed in the hind end now and the last thing I want to do is put him through something that would cause him to decline even more or cause him pain (he is in absolutely no pain now what so ever). Is there anyone who has had this done and can tell me how it went, how the recovery period was and if it was a useful tool to diagnose the problem? I appreciate any feedback --thanks.
