who is was that used to come here to TP that had Chinese Crested dogs? She did some rescues and had bought a new one in the spring time. I can't for the life of me remember who it was. They even had a nice webpage dedicated to their dogs.
What got me thinking about Crestiemom and her pup was an ad in our local paper. Someone is selling an AKC Chinese Crested puppy for just $200. Guess they got the dog and can't keep it for some reason. Not sure that a dog without much hair is very suitable to our cold climate up here.
Thanks huron - I missed you too. Since I came back, I haven't run into Mafia. Where the heck is she? There are so many.
Still wonder about the other former "yooper" girl, she was in Georgia and had just gotten a little Schkipperke puppy, wonder how he is doing? Don't know if I spelled it right, but you know what I mean, right?
How are the dogs? Any new puppies since we last talked? Do you get Christmas cards from the people that bought puppies from you in the past? I love getting them, have dozens of photos of my babies from years past.
Still working on getting pictures of my 3 little puppies I raised earlier this year. I keep very close track of one of the pups, my cousin's wife has the little male from the litter, his name is now Cha-chi and he is a character. Very entertaining for Carol and her family.
Ok, back to you. Yes, it is freezing and cold and damp. I didn't have to work the past 2 days, the dogs and I just vegged out. Back to work tomorrow. Drat!
Where's my big, industrial strength roll of duct tape when I need it? Anyone misbehaving gets their keyboard duct taped for a time out. he he
Maybe it was shig? Gosh, I better go to bed and rest my weary head. Tyke is in bed already, he has been out here several times, wondering if I am going to sleep soon. Good thing I can understand dog talk. :D
yes I have wondered about Shig myself...she was wonderful in chats if she got wound up...i almost never speak to any regulars unless they frequent the "other furom" I go to...and then many might just have lives and very busy...every once in a while i get busy...then im slacking for another while...lol...Im glad that your doing good and have r & r time this past couple of days...keep in touch...
OK everyone can just quit about the ice and snow now.....I live in N.Tx and we have not had rain (save one small storm) in 2 1/2 months. The ground is so dry that the dog's paw pads are getting torn up, and forget hay for horses. If you didn't get it in September, you ain't getting any unless you have it trucked in. I'd take ice and snow...at least it would melt. Even the weeds have died. But that's OK... in February I'll be riding in shirt sleeves!!! Everyone have a great day! :) :)
Don't worry, we had our share of no rain this summer. Over 2 1/2 months of drought. The grass turned brown, the leaves fell from the trees. It was terrible. We finally got rain towards the end of August. Never got a killing frost until the end of October. The longest growing season I can remember in my lifetime.
The hay crop was terrible this summer, don't know if it improved any this fall for a 2nd or 3rd harvest. I don't have my horses anymore, so I don't keep track of hay.
Lake Michigan is still very, very low. My dogs either stayed indoors or laid around under the trees in the shade most of the summer, it was too hot to do much. We never have temps in the high 90's for weeks on end, but we did this year.
Now we're paying for it, with an early, early snow fall and cold snap.
