hi my crate training is going beautifully, so far. pup goes in at night with no fuss and only had the one night of whining when we started. the thing is, i'm wondering if anyone has a guesstimate of when i should be able to look forward to her sleeping through the night. she wakes up 2 times a night. i put her to bed at 10:00 then she wakes between 12:00-1:00 and then again between 3:30-5:00. Then i'm up at 6:00-6:30 to get my husband off to work and then the kids off to school. now this sleeping in snatches is starting to affect me during the day. i am soooo tired. my husband asked me if she is just whining to get out. and no she isn't. when i hear her, i take her out and she immediately goes potty AND poo each time she wakes. then i bring her back in and put her in her crate and she goes back to sleep(no whining i might add). anyways sorry about the novel, but my question is... when should i see some improvement on the potty control? she is 16 weeks this thursday. and i know she is still young, but i would even be happy if she only got up once at night instead of two. any insights?

Im not sure how old your puppy is but 6mo. is about the target age where they can hold it all night. Of course a smaller breed may take a bit longer. At this point you need to use her "q's" and take her out when she whines to go out. She knows the routine so just try to put her crate where you can hear her and the minute you hear her stirring around then take her out and let her go potty. No use in waking her up if she is sleeping well. Its kind of like having a real human baby...you let them sleep until they wake and then go from there. Your sleelpless nights should be coming to and end soon and you will be so glad you stuck it out. Good luck.
she is 16 weeks this thursday and i do wait for her to wake me up whining. she has been pretty consistant on the time frames of her potty breaks. oh and i was lucky with all three of my kids they slept through the night with in the first 6 weeks(i had very big babies they were able to sleep at longer lengths), so this puppy training seems to last longer than i thought it would. but i'm always up for a challenge. i was just looking for a guesstimate on sleeping through the night. this is the first time with a puppy, we rescued our lab at 12 months and he was already house trained of course. but thanks for your comments and i guess i'll just keep up with what i'm doing and wait for the time i get to wake up to the alarm in the morning instead of a puppy whine a few times during the night.
oh could i put her food and water up towards the late evening so she isn't in need of going so much during the night? like i do with my kids(no drinks and food before bedtime) what does anyone think of this? just a thought
