If it is Parvo....you want to go to the vet NOW, emergency clinic, anything. Parvo will act quickly once it starts and he can die if not treated early. Early treatment increases the rate of survival...do you have other pets as well?
My little 7 month old pug was put in the hospital last Friday with the parvo.Apparently there are several ways a dog can get it.She was laying around.Wouldn't eat and drink and had bad bowel movements. So i rushed her to the vet at 7:00 that night.Well she was pretty bad off ....well Today she is still in the hospital and yesterday we got the bad news that she had thrown a blood clot i her back legs...Well when you cutt her toenails blood only comes out of one leg..Her leg is now paralyzed. They are hopingto at least send her home tomorrow and the re-evaluate her leg in a week or 2.They may have to amputate it though.Has anyone every had this same problem?
Emergency treatment UNTIL you get to the vet..... Fluids fluids fluids...force them if you have to. I use a turkey baster on the back of the mouth and go slowly...Pedialye works best, but Gatorade will work well. Immoduin AD for diarreah..try to stop it and be sure to tell the vet you gave it to the dog.
DO NOT give asprin or any other medication other than Immodium or Kaopectate.
