I thought this was so awful, i can't believe ppl can do this stuff...I can't believe we can honestly classify those ppl as "human"... Someone posted on here about dogfighting, in a very lighthearted way, and it isn't a lighthearted issue. Here's the link: http://www.pet-abuse.com/database/case_photos.php?case_id=1920 St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara announces arrest of two in Port St. Lucie for drug dealing and torturing dogs to train them for fighting. St. Lucie County Sheriff's drug investigators making a drug arrest at a home in Port St. Lucie also found six pit bull terrier dogs that had been used for dog fighting, said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. One of the dogs had been used for "dog baiting" and mauled by other dogs, the Sheriff said. "The most seriously injured dog had most of its face chewed off," the Sheriff said. "This was a sickening display of animal cruelty at its most sadistic and inhuman." The other five dogs were emaciated and had wounds from dog fighting. Deputies placed all six dogs in the care of the Humane Society of Fort Pierce where veterinary specialists are treating them, the Sheriff said. Humane Society officials said the most seriously injured dog was not in pain from the facial injuries, but that the severity of the injuries would require euthanization of the animal. "We have had a continuing investigation under way into organized dog-fighting rings operated by drug dealers traveling all over the state," the Sheriff said. "We will continue this investigation in hopes of finding those responsible for these reprehensible and disgusting acts of cruelty." Arrested on charges of marijuana possession with intent to sell, animal cruelty and animal fighting or baiting were: Margaret C. Hester, 45, and Robert James Hester, 43, both of 2262 S.E. Shipping Road, Port St. Lucie. Both also were arrested on drug charges. Margaret Hester was at the home when detectives served a search warrant. Robert Hester drove up to the home after investigators had arrived. He had several grams of cocaine in his pocket worth an estimated $500. Deputies arrested him on additional charges of possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Marijuana found at the home is worth an estimated $1,500. Attached are booking photos of the two defendants and photos of the animal cruelty. Margaret Hester posted $23,000 bond this morning and was released from the St. Lucie County jail pending future court proceedings. As of late Friday morning, Robert Hester remained confined at the St. Lucie County jail under $28,500 bond.
Those pics were so horrible. Some people really are off in the head. It is all about cash and excitement. I hope that thier noses are torn off, and they are starved in prison. I am just outraged at the irresponsiblity of these idiots.
omg.. i was not expecting that when i opened the link.. that was the saddest thing i've seen yet.. these so called "people" deserve the same treatment these poor animals receive.. Im ashamed to have them part of my race..
Disgusting, and for the people in the article who said the dog with half his face off was not in pain, well I beg to differ!!!! Dogs handle their pain different ways than people, more stoic, but none the less in pain!!!! This is a problem in the Pittsburgh, Pa area also, and it is a crime that I feel should be more than a slap on the wrist like they get. I believe animal abuse should be considered a felony and should be subjected to lengthy prison time when commited. It is the only way it will ever stop. As long as people get off with a little fine and community service, they won't get the picture.
Mstres1127 I agree with you it should be considered a Felony.. and prison should be the price the pay. Then again these people seem to be people that would spend their time in and out of prison life.. they are disgusting.. poor animals..
Its horrible that people do this type of thing to animals. They arrest these so called humans for dog fighting and toss them in jail or fine them. What bothers me the most is I work to support these people in jail. I give them a roof over their head, feed them and give them a better life than probably where they live. I shouldn't have to support these idiots. I say toss them on a secluded island and let them fend for themselves. People who do this type of thing don't deserve to be treated like a human.
Do you see they were allso charged with drugs. A lot of these deal drugs and keep the dogs and train them to attack people who "don't pay up" These people are sick OOOO's. Maybe they should turn a police dog onto them and see how they feel about that.
What kind of ******* can do that to a poor dog? It just makes me sick to see animal abuse, regardless of the breed it happens to. Poor dogs. Anyone that does this to any animal should be locked up and have the key thrown away and forgoten about.
What kills me is that in the State of North Carolina it is a felony to fight a dog. But you can beat it to death, starve it to death, or anything else you can think of besides fighting it and it is a misdomedor. I don't get that. We had a women get busted here and they found carcuses of lots of dogs, dogs in terrible condition, a cockatoo that she had painted blue and so on....and she was only charged with a misdomedor. (sp).
