A year and a half year old was left unattended for about an hour or so this morning. In that time frame, he managed to get out of his broken second story bedroom window onto the roof of the porch. Apparently the family lived in a row home, in which 8-9 houses are attached. Well he crawled from roof to roof just barely from the edge. The family owned a GSD whom saw the baby out the window, jumped out following him, barking his head off to alert others. The baby was found, just inches from the edge, because this faithful dog made so much noise it made the neighbors take notice!
Thank goodness for our faithful campanions!!! I would love to know where the parents where!!!
omg how aweful to leave the baby home alone like that. i hate to leave my 3 yo in the house by herself when she "don't wanna go to the barn". but we use walkie talkies and she tells us if she needs anything. plus the barn is only about 20 yards from the house. but omg!!! the baby on the roof, what would the parents have done if she would have fallen and been killed?
great job doggie!
now hopefully the dog and the kid get taken away until these parents get their heads on straight!!
The story, while not exactly the same reminded me of something...Have any of you ever 'read' a book called "Good dog, Carl"??? There aren't really any words, just pictures.
Carl is a rottie who ends up watching the toddler and keeping him from danger and out of trouble. There are more than just the first book I mentioned, the art work is great, and a great book to give to a rottie lover, especially one with kids :)
