Dear bellaNchico, huntersmom, Amaro76, pharlane, and Tonka,
If any of you (or anyone else who's interested in Chi ears not standing up) are still out there, could you post an update about your Chi's whose ears weren't standing up at first? My little Chancie is 6 months old, a pure-bred Chi, and ears are as floppy as a rag doll. Other two older boys, Tango and Rudy, have ears that are as straight up as they can be.
I just wanted to let you know that I have a chihuahau, Ariel. I don't remember how old it was when her ears finally showed up, but I do remember it seemed like they were never going to. Don't give up yet. You can see her at her dogster page:
Oh, no, I don't show our dogs or anything, nor do I breed them. All three of my little males are neutered, and we have them only as sweet little pets. The truth is I don't really care if his ears stand up or not; he has already endeared himself to us for life, as have his brothers. I was just curious if Chance's ears might still at some point stand up or not. His litter mate belongs to a friend of mine, and that puppy's ears are already standing up. But, again, the bottom line is, we really don't care. We'll tell people he's a real rarity of the breed, the curly-eared Chihuahua!
